A moving event to honor not only a colleague who is retiring but the retirement of the last of the humanists.
During the event, the same passage from the same book was mentioned twice by two different speakers. It was also the very passage I had underlined when I read the book in 2019:
preservo, més que cap altre privilegi, el dret de visitar les biblioteques assíduament, amb una disciplina fèrria que no coneix excuses. Hi vaig, m’enterro dins dels llibres, desaparec dins del text i el dia ja està salvat.
