Family visit to the Carthusian Monastery of Escaladei. My last visit was ages ago, when the place was still in ruins. The site has since been partially reconstructed. It is superb.
We spend quite some time in a reconstruction of one of the monks’ cells. The monks studied in isolation. No sign of today’s open-office layouts for faculty.
